This series consists of proposals and contracts for goods and services at the Hayward Indian School. Some agency advertisements for goods, Form 5-080 are included with contractor proposals and contracts submitted for approval. Products include boilers, coal, electrical and telephone supplies, lumber, oil, seeds, wire, and food. In some instances, handwritten lists of proposals are included. Also included are a few pieces of correspondence asking about the contract process and results.

Hayward Boarding School

The Hayward Indian School in Hawyward, Wisconsin, was opened in 1901 as a boarding school for the Chippewa of the Lac Courte Oreille Reservation. It was subordinate to the La Pointe Agency until 1904. About 1911 it was given agency duties for the reservation. The school was closed in 1934, and its duties were transferred to the Lac du Flambeau Agency. ...
